APS Dog Park
The APS Dog Park is a three-acre fenced in off-leash socialization and play area for your dog located on the grounds of the Felicite Latane Animal Sanctuary. The park is open 365 days a year from 8am until dusk. To ensure park safety, dogs must be people and dog friendly and be at least 4 months old to be dog park members. The park is monitored on a daily basis by the APS Dog Training Program Manager.
Dog Park memberships are available for an annual fee of $50 for one dog and $20 for an additional dog. All human dog park members must go through an orientation which includes a video on dog park behaviors. In addition, each dog is evaluated to ensure appropriate social conduct. To schedule an orientation/interview for you and your dog, please contact the APS Dog Training Program Manager,
Sharon Ashe, at (919) 304-2300 x233 or dogtraining@animalprotectionsociety.org.
While visiting the park, please watch your dog! Off-leash does not mean out of control. Spaying/neutering is strongly recommended, and no female dogs in heat are permitted in the park. Documentation of DHLPP vaccinations, rabies, and bordetella must be provided upon application for membership. New dog park members should plan to attend "Playing Well With Others", a workshop on canine social behaviors presented by the APS Dog Training Program several times per year and listed on our "events" page.
If you have questions about the Dog Training Program, registering for an upcoming class, or the dog park, please call
Sharon Ashe, APS Dog Training Manager at (919) 304-2300 ext 233 or email dogtraining@animalprotectionsociety.org.
